Peanut butter and jelly are a match made in heaven. Spaghetti and meatballs are best friends forever. And guys like Tyler Knight don’t go for girls like Cam Emerson.
Or so she thought…
Cam: Is a self-proclaimed matchmaker for everyone but herself. She has lived her life by categorizing people like she would books. She doesn’t date beyond her shelf of fairies and giants, wizards and muggles, heroes and villains. Geeks with geeks and so on.
According to Tyler she knows almost everything.
Tyler: Is an ex-football player turned sports agent due to a bad injury that didn’t allow him to come back to the game he loves so much. He’s also an excellent breakfast maker (just eggs and it’s all in the wrist).
According to Cam he’s way out of her league.
They are best friends and roommates. Tyler ended up moving in with Cam after a bad breakup and the rest is history. Bonding over football, with Cam trying to make Tyler find that book that would help him open up to the wonderful world of the written word they managed to form a strong bond of friendship… Nothing more. Cam has drawn the lines and Tyler has respected them. With Cam dead set on not crossing to Tyler’s “shelf”, against her own feelings, she sets him up with a gorgeous woman. But when Tyler realizes his feelings for Cam and finds out she actually feels the same, he is set on giving things a try with the nerdy roommate who doesn’t realize how beautiful she really is.
So I have read all 3 books in the Bad Habits and now the spinoff Wasted Words does not disappoint. I mean it has the sweetest best friends to lovers story! The way they care for each other. How Tyler respects Cam’s wishes despite his feelings. That first kiss!! Tyler has many moments that make you go awwww and melt like ice cream on a summer day. He is hot, sweet and can pull off a Captain America/Steve Rogers better than Chris Evans.
The books is full of book references in between (my favorite) Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Marvel and DC heroes and villains, manga…. you name it!
Harry Potter opened my eyes to the world of books and I have been trying to help my husband enter this world by helping him find the book that will do it for him. It is something that we do for our loved ones and I thought it was the sweetest thing to see Cam do that for Tyler and to see Tyler giving books a try because of her. I will leave you to find out if he manages to discover it 😉
5 stars ★★★★★ for the roommates!
